Racking for the iron and steel and metalworking industries.

Sheets, tubes, profiles, bars, wire rods. When storing metal materials, every meter of vertical space gained is warehouse space saved. And cantilever racking is almost always the answer.

What’s different between a sheet metal warehouse and any other.

The material stored in the iron and steel industry has three characteristics that no other sector combines: it’s long (even over 6 meters), it’s heavy (a pack of sheets can exceed 2 tons), and it needs to be handled from the side, not from above.

This means traditional racking cannot handle it: a pallet rack isn’t deep enough, light duty shelving can’t bear the weight, and a structure without side access makes retrieval extremely slow.

The right structure in these cases is heavy duty cantilever racking, configured for handling with side loader forklifts or stacking cranes.

Common configurations we encounter.

Single-sided heavy duty cantilever against a wall

For warehouses with access from only one aisle. Maximum utilization of wall space, side retrieval with a sideloading forklift.

Double-sided cantilever with double aisle

For warehouses with open space. Double capacity for the same footprint, ideal for storing high volumes of tubes and profiles.

Cantilever + combined pallet racking

For workshops that handle both long materials (cantilever) and palletized components (pallet racking) within the same system.
