Design, production, installation, and maintenance of Mezzanines

Design of Industrial Mezzanines

servizi soppalchi progettazione

From structural calculation to final testing, a single point of contact. We design, produce, assemble, and maintain your industrial mezzanine: seismic calculation, building permit process, and assembly with in-house teams. No hand-offs, no shifting of responsibility.

An industrial mezzanine is not a product to be delivered; it’s a project to be managed. Buying it “off-the-shelf” from a reseller often means dealing with three different suppliers: one for calculation, one for assembly, and one (perhaps) for maintenance. When something goes wrong, each one points to the other.

We manage the entire cycle: mezzanine design at our facilities in Mornico al Serio (Bergamo), production, installation, and maintenance. We start with an on-site inspection, explain what you truly need, then manufacture and support you over time.

Custom Industrial Mezzanine Design.

servizi soppalchi progettazione su misura

The mezzanine doesn’t start from a catalog; it starts from your warehouse. It supports people and loads and changes the intended use of the space, so it must be calculated, not chosen from a data sheet. We start with an on-site inspection, measure the actual usable height, consider the constraints of the warehouse truss and the intended use, and dimension levels, capacities (from 250 to 1,000 kg/sqm), and access points based on this data.

Our in-house technical office (200 sqm) performs the calculations according to UNI EN 15629 and NTC standards, including seismic dimensioning where required. And since a SCIA (Certified Notification of Commencement of Works) or municipal authorization is almost always needed, the technical documentation for the building permit process is part of the project: not a cost you discover later.

Mezzanine Installation and Assembly with In-House Teams.

The mezzanine assembly is handled by our in-house teams, not a subcontracted installer: the people who designed it are the ones who install it. You see the difference when, during installation, a constraint emerges that wasn’t visible in the drawing: we call the technical office and adapt on-site, without waiting for authorization from a distant supplier.

We coordinate assembly with your production schedule, even in phases, to minimize downtime.

Mezzanine Maintenance and Inspection: A Walkable Structure Requires Checks.

servizi soppalchi manutenzione

A mezzanine doesn’t end with final testing. It’s a structure that supports people and loads: it must be inspected periodically, and the UNI EN 15635 standard places the responsibility for regular verification of the condition of storage structures and mezzanines on the employer. It’s not just an obligation: a deformed deck or a damaged upright must be identified before they lead to failure.

We perform the inspection, provide you with a report detailing the condition and priorities, and intervene where necessary. We know the structure because we designed and assembled it: we know where to look.

Why design, installation, and maintenance should be handled by a single partner.

When design, installation, and maintenance are handled by the same company, there is no lapse in accountability. The person performing the inspection ten years from now is the same one who engineered the structure and knows its design load capacities.

FAQ

Do you also handle the building permit process (SCIA) for the mezzanine?2026-10-06T10:11:38+01:00

Yes, we prepare the documentation for the SCIA or municipal authorization, as a mezzanine alters the intended use of the space. It is part of the project.

How much does it cost to design and install an industrial mezzanine?2026-10-06T10:28:46+01:00

It depends on the surface area, the number of levels, the required load capacities (lb/sq ft), and the access points. There is no one-size-fits-all price per square foot: we define it after a site survey, with a quote that includes calculations, building permits, assembly, and testing.

Must the mezzanine be seismic-resistant?2026-10-06T10:28:48+01:00

Yes, in areas with significant seismic activity: we size it according to the seismic criteria of the NTC. We evaluate this during the design phase based on the warehouse’s location.

How Often Should a Mezzanine Be Inspected?2026-10-06T10:13:33+01:00

UNI EN 15635 requires regular inspections to be carried out by the employer, typically on an annual basis for the technical inspection. We can manage this for you with a periodic program.

Do you also work on mezzanines installed by others?2026-10-06T10:11:31+01:00

Yes, we work on structures from any manufacturer for inspections, retrofitting, and expansions. We always begin with a verification of the existing structure’s condition.

Can you install without halting production?2026-10-06T10:14:31+01:00

We plan the installation in phases and according to your schedule to minimize downtime. We define this together during the site inspection.

Let’s start with a site inspection. It’s free.
