Autosat: the automatic pallet storage system, up to 13.5 meters deep
A robotic shuttle moves within a compact storage channel and autonomously places or retrieves pallets. You get the density of a drive-in system with the speed and traceability of an automatic system, without the forklift operator entering deep into the aisles.
We design the system and the supporting structure in our facilities in Bergamo, dimensioned for your pallet and your flow.

When the Autosat automatic storage system makes sense
Autosat is not “just an automatic drive-in.” It is the right choice when you have large volumes of homogeneous pallets, seek maximum density, and require traceability for each unit. And when work shifts justify the investment.
If the volumes are not there, a traditional drive-in or pallet rack system performs better: we will tell you before selling you a system.
How Autosat works: the shuttle operates in place of the forklift operator in depth
The forklift operator deposits the pallet at the channel entrance; from there, the robotic shuttle transports it deep inside and positions it, and does the reverse for
retrieval.
The forklift no longer enters the aisles: fewer idle times, fewer collision risks, greater density.
Autosat system configurations.
We start with volumes, rotation, and shifts: these define the number of channels, shuttles, and flow logic.
FIFO — Continuous Flow
Loading and unloading at opposite ends of the channel. For products with expiration dates and orderly rotation (food, cold storage).
LIFO — Reverse Flow
Loading and unloading from the same side. For accumulation and products without strict rotation constraints.
Multi-shuttle
Multiple shuttles assignable to different channels, to increase productivity and ensure operational continuity.
Retrofit on Existing Drive-in
In many cases, the integration of the shuttle into an existing drive-in structure is evaluated, subject to technical verification of the guides.
From site survey to final testing, without intermediaries
An automatic system does not start with a quote: it starts with an honest evaluation of the numbers. We produce the supporting structure; we oversee the integration of the shuttle and WMS until commissioning.
What we achieve is a short supply chain: a single point of contact, changes managed in real time, and clear responsibility at every stage.
Compliance and Safety of an Automatic Storage System
The supporting structure follows UNI EN 15629 (design) and UNI EN 15512 (calculation) standards, with seismic dimensioning according to NTC where required. UNI EN 15635 standards on periodic inspections also apply here, and the automatic part complies with machine safety standards.

Frequently Asked Questions about Autosat and Automatic Pallet Storage
It is a high-density warehouse where a robotic shuttle (the satellite) moves within the storage lanes to autonomously place and retrieve pallets. The forklift remains at the entry point; the shuttle handles the movement within the racks.
The compact structure is similar, but in a drive-in system, the forklift operator enters the aisles, whereas in Autosat, the shuttle does. The result: increased speed, pallet traceability, and a lower risk of collisions. Drive-in systems remain preferable when volumes do not justify the investment in automation.
Autosat is advantageous when drive-in systems create cart queues, result in traceability loss, or require excessively long retrieval times, and when your volumes and shifts justify the investment. We verify this with a feasibility assessment, using your specific data.
Yes, in many cases, it is possible to convert an existing drive-in system into an automated system by integrating a shuttle, subject to a technical verification of the existing structure and guides. We assess this during an on-site inspection.
Autosat’s storage depth reaches up to 13.5 m. The height and number of levels depend on the warehouse and the pallet, and are determined during the project phase.
The system is redundant: typically, multiple satellites are used, which can be reassigned to different aisles. MCT technical support ensures prompt service.
