Metal Canopies

Custom metal canopies to provide coverage without building a warehouse

Industrial canopies, covered loading/unloading areas, carports: clear-span metal structures that protect the space you need, calculated for the snow and wind loads of your site. Metal roofing, insulated or transparent panels, depending on the use.

Calculated and produced by our internal technical office in Mornico al Serio (Bergamo) and installed by our teams.

When a metal canopy is the right choice

A canopy is not just “a warehouse without walls.” It is a targeted covering: it protects a work area, a passage, or a storage space without the commitment (and costs) of a closed building.

It is needed when you must protect goods, vehicles, or people from the elements while keeping the space open.

Do you need a closed structure rather than just a covering?

Demountable clear-span canopies with the right roofing for the application

MCT canopies are designed to be demountable and clear-span: we calculate them based on the space you need to cover and the site loads, not on a standard span.

And we choose the roofing based on the use: simple shelter, thermal insulation, or natural light.

Structure calculated based on the span to be covered, leaving the space below free of pillars where needed. Demountable and expandable over time.

Metal roofing for shelter, insulated panels where temperature matters, and transparent materials where natural light is needed. Also customizable in color.

Sizing follows the Technical Standards for Construction regarding the snow and wind loads of the area: a canopy stays outside year-round and must be calculated as such.

Types of metal canopies.

The type depends on what you need to cover and where: from there, we define the geometry, spans, roofing, and anchoring.

Industrial Canopy

Coverage for loading/unloading areas and entrances, cantilevered or on pillars.

Storage Canopy

Coverage for goods, materials, or vehicles, with clear spans.

Carport

Covered parking and garages for corporate or collective use.

Transparent or Insulated Roofing

With transparent panels for natural light or insulated panels for thermal control.

From site survey to final testing, without intermediaries

The canopy is calculated by our technical office and installed by our teams. A building permit is almost always required: we prepare the technical documentation so it is part of the project and not an unexpected cost later.

What we achieve is a short supply chain: a single point of contact, changes managed in real time, and clear responsibility at every stage.

Free On-Site Inspection

We measure the space, analyze your movements, and understand what you are storing.

Technical Design

Warehouse layout + structural dimensioning + detailed quote.

Custom Production

Cutting, welding, and painting at our facilities in Bergamo.

Assembly and Testing

Installation with in-house teams. Technical documentation provided upon testing.

Compliance and Building Permits for Metal Canopies

A canopy is a permanent outdoor structure: it must be calculated for snow and wind according to Technical Standards (NTC) and, in almost all cases, requires a building permit or notification.

We prepare the technical documentation as part of the project and monitor the structure over time with inspections and maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions about Metal Canopies

What is a metal canopy?2026-10-06T10:13:55+01:00

A metal canopy is a clear-span metal roofing structure that shelters an area while keeping it open: industrial sheds, loading/unloading covers, and carports. The roofing can be metal, insulated panels, or transparent materials, depending on the intended use.

Is a building permit required to install a canopy?2026-10-06T10:15:26+01:00

Installing a metal canopy almost always requires a building permit: depending on the type, a SCIA or a building permit may be necessary. We prepare the technical documentation as part of the project.

Are the canopies designed for snow and wind loads?2026-10-06T10:14:50+01:00

Yes, the design of the canopies always complies with the Technical Building Codes for snow and wind loads in the area. For particularly exposed sites, we perform a specific calculation.

What type of roofing can I choose?2026-10-06T10:02:13+01:00

Metal roofing for shelter, insulated panels where temperature matters, and transparent materials where natural light is needed. The structure’s color can also be customized.

What is the difference between a metal canopy and a metal warehouse?2026-10-06T10:02:57+01:00

A canopy covers a space while keeping it open; a warehouse is a closed structure. If you only need to shelter an area, a canopy is more cost-effective and faster to build; if you require a closed volume, a metal warehouse is the choice.

Is it possible to expand a metal canopy later?2026-10-06T10:03:00+01:00

Yes. The structure is modular, so bays can be added or the roofing modified, starting with a verification of the existing structure.

Let’s start with a site inspection. It’s free.
